For the first time ever, the Dubai Rental Index has been released in partnership between Dubai Land Department and Property Finder. Within this insightful data, there is a plethora of information that is quite notable. In 2021, 611,533 properties rented throughout the year which broke a 12 year record in terms of volume for real estate rental transactions. Annual leases increased by 8.78% and short term leases increased by 32.7% in 2021.

Shorter contracts for leases have increased by over 41% a year, on average, for the past 5 years. In 2020, due to the pandemic and people not wanting to commit to an annual contract, we saw short-term contracts rise by 74%. In 2021 they increased by 32.69%.
